Plains Grains Inc. July 31 Report: Wheat Harvest Progressing Swiftly Across U.S.

The 2020 hard red winter wheat harvest is moving rapidly through the northern and northwestern sections of the United States and picking up steam in other regions, according to the July 31 Harvest Summary from Mark Hodges, executive directory ofPlains Grains, Inc.

Notably, South Dakota reports exceptionally good yields, high test weights and high protein. It's been their "best crop ever," many producers have said.

The report said 350 samples have been collected with 313 in various stages of testing, covering Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming and most of South Dakota.

Mixograph testing of subsamples still indicates this crop has sound functional quality protein with much more consistency across the sampling locations again this week.
