Ethanol Production Increases Slightly, Reports U.S. Energy Information Administration

Ethanol production in the United States rose by more than 2% last week, leaving weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol 4% lower when compared to the previous week, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The increase offered a glimmer of hope for an end to the valley in production that began the week ending July 31, when a lower level of production matched up with what was produced for the week ending Aug. 21 at 931,000 barrels per day.

Production averaged 941,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 4.

Weekly U.S. ethanol ending stocks fell to 19.993 million barrels for last week, down from 20.882 million barrels the previous week and 20.409 million the week before.
