Production Valley Continues for Ethanol, Reports U.S. Energy Information Administration

Ethanol production in the United States fell by 1.6% last week, leaving weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol nearly 1% lower when compared to the previous week, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The decline was further evidence of a continued valley in production that began the last week of July.

Production averaged 926,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 11, down from 941,000 barrels per day for the previous week and identical to the amount produced for the week ending Aug. 14.

Weekly U.S. ethanol ending stocks fell to 19.798 million barrels for last week, down from 19.993 million barrels the previous week and 20.882 million the week before.
