NGFA's Dave Fairfield Recognized for Contribution to New 'Abbreviated Guide to Creating a Livestock Food Safety Plan'

Dave Fairfield, National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) senior vice president for feed, has been recognized for his contribution to the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance's new "Abbreviated Guide to Creating a Livestock Food Safety Plan."

The alliance unveiled the plan this month under the animal food preventive control rules issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as part of the Food Safety Modernization Act.

Fairfield was the only industry member so recognized who "made significant contributions of time and expertise" in developing the guide.

The other contributors were two FDA officials and two North Carolina State University faculty specialists.
