Grain Talk Podcast: Bill Spreeman Shares Safety Insights From Columbia Grain International (March 26, 2021/29 min.)
Bill Spreeman is safety director at Columbia Grain International, which has more than 40 locations across the Northwest and built a successful safety program through a variety of approaches.
Spreeman shares his experiences and some of the ways CGI has approached mitigating the hazards of grain handling and storage and the safety programs they use, from hands-on and online to building a safety culture from the top down.
He also talks about CGI employees participating in Stand Up 4 Grain Safety Week, which CGI sees as a positive industry collaboration, now in its fifth year.
An outreach initiative by The Alliance, a coalition of OSHA, NGFA, GEAPS, and the Grain Handling Safety Council, Stand Up 4 Grain Safety Week raises awareness of the many hazards that come from working in the grain handling industry and provides resources for mitigating those hazards.
