Grain Talk Podcast: Margaret Barber Shares How Port of Coos Bay, OR, Is Poised For Grain Export Growth (17:23)

Grain, particularly wheat, is a top-five export for the state of Oregon, where Port of Coos Bay is poised to serve growing demand across the Pacific Northwest.

More than 85% of Oregon-grown wheat is exported, and grain vessel loading activity out of the Pacific Northwest continues to be strong. In a recent USDA report, wheat production worldwide is expected to grow to new records in 2021-22.

In this Grain Talk episode, Margaret Barber, director of external affairs and business development, discusses the port's facilities, including a rail line, and goals for growth in the grain export market.

With China expected to continue strong demand growth, the need for export options on the West Coast is a prime reason Port of Coos Bay stands to benefit. Learn more about Port of Coos Bay at portofcoosbay.com.
