NGFA Assigns New Staff Roles

During the National Grain and Feed Association's 25th annual convention on June 2-4, the association announced several new titles and committee reassignments for its staff members.

Todd Kemp will transition into a new role, effective July 1, as NGFA Executive Director of Member Services and Outreach. [His job description is updated as follows: Responsible for the overall management of member relations. Lead efforts for retention and recruitment of existing and new members. Facilitates understanding of membership benefits, opportunities for engagement, and works with Association staff to address concerns brought forward by members. Develops membership goals and works with Treasurer to achieve budget objectives. Works with President and CEO to target direct engagement with members and potential members.]

Max Fisher, effective July 1, will be NGFA Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Economist. [His job description is updated as follows: Responsible for preparing annual budget proposal for the association and tracking adherence to the budget after approval by the Board. Works with Investment Committee and outside investment advisor to ensure proper stewardship of Association investments. Provides economic analyses and policy input on legislative and regulatory issues, including agricultural policy; international trade agreements; futures market regulation; safety and environmental rulemakings; rail and waterway transportation; and any other priorities determined by the President and CEO, Executive Committee or Board of Directors. Principal staff liaison to NGFA’s Motor Carrier Committee, Rail Shipper/Receiver Committee, and Risk Management Committee. Corporate officer appointed and approved by the Board of Directors.]

Rebecca Grubbs will assume the title NGFA Vice President, Marketing and Foundation Outreach. [Her job description is updated as follows: Supervises and manages logistical and contractual arrangements, planning, and execution for meetings, conferences and special events. Manages all marketing and sponsorship campaigns, including meeting branding, and print, web, and email communications, and all aspects of the Association’s sponsorship plan. Oversees the Committee Apprentice Program and Next Generation Agribusiness Leaders program. Works with the President and CEO to serve as staff liaison with the National Grain and Feed Foundation responsible for assisting in raising the profile of the Foundation with members and external partners to better raise funds and promote objectives of the Foundation.]

Mary Hitchcock will assume the title NGFA Director Commercial/Arbitration Services and Project Management. [Her job description is updated as follows: Responsible for managing the case load within NGFA’s arbitration system, including coordinating communications and filings with the parties and arbitrators. Assists with the administration of NGFA’s Trade Rules Committee, Arbitration Appeals Committee, Rail Arbitration Rules Committee and Legal Council. Principal staff liaison to Finance and Administration Committee, assists Vice President Legislative Affairs and Public Policy on staffing International Trade/Ag Policy Committee. Special Projects Manager responsible for working with the President CEO to coordinate projects of importance to the Association across multiple business functions. Responsible for maintaining Trade Rules and Arbitration sections of the Association’s website. National Grain and Feed Digital Solutions (NGFDS) Secretary and Assistant Treasurer.]

More staff committee re-assignments include:

  • Jess McCluer, NGFA Vice President, Safety and Regulatory Affairs, will assume responsibilities for the Crop Technology Committee and will assume additional duties addressing security related issues for NGFA members.
  • Bobby Frederick, NGFA Vice President, Legislative Affairs and Public Policy, will assume responsibility for the International Trade/Agriculture Policy (ITAP) Committee.
  • Jim Seibert, NGFA Director, Safety, Education and Training, assumes responsibility for the Country Elevator Committee.
