U.S. Energy Information Administration (Oct. 6): Ethanol Production Increases by 7%

Production of fuel ethanol in the United States went up significantly while ending stocks tightened, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Even so, production remained below 1 million barrels per day for the ninth week in a row.

Production averaged 978,000 barrels per day for the week ending Oct. 1 compared to 914,000 barrels per day the week before.

This represents an increase of about 7%.

Meanwhile weekly U.S. ethanol ending stocks shrank more than 1% to 19.931 million barrels from 20.220 million barrels week-to-week.

Ending stocks had not been so low since early June.
