U.S. Energy Information Administration (Oct. 20): After Month of Rising Production, Ethanol Ending Stocks Finally Growing

Production of fuel ethanol in the United States stayed above 1 million barrels last week for the second consecutive week, finally helping ending stocks reverse a month-long decline, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Wednesday, Oct. 20.

Production averaged 1,096,000 barrels per day for the week ending Oct. 15 compared to 1,032,000 barrels per day the week before.

This represents an increase of more than 6%.

Possibly as a result, weekly U.S. ethanol ending stocks grew for the first time since late September, rising to 20.080 million barrels from 19.847 million barrels week-to-week.

This represents an increase of about 1%.
