Surface Transportation Board Sets Schedule For CP-KCS Merger, Names Dec. 13 as Deadline For Notices of Intent to Participate

On Nov. 23, the Surface Transportation Board (STB) accepted the merger application of Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) and Kansas City Southern Railway’s (KCS) for consideration and set the procedural schedule.

Notices of intent to participate in this proceeding are due by Dec. 13.

Comments from interested parties are due Feb. 28, and reply comments by April 22.

If approved, the new railroad would be called Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and would offer the only single-line service connecting Canada to Mexico.
