The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced this week it will present a webinar for stakeholders on Aug. 11, 2022 at 1 p.m. ET to discuss the agency’s requirements for biennial food facility registration, and obtaining an acceptable Unique Facility Identifier.
Domestic and foreign facilities that manufacture, process, pack, or hold food for consumption by humans or animals in the United States are required to register with FDA and are to renew their registration on even-numbered years between October 1 and December 31. Facilities required to register include those involved in grain handling, grain processing, feed manufacturing, and others.
Topics to be addressed in the webinar include:
1. Who needs to register or renew
2. How to obtain a Unique Facility Identifier (UFI)
3. How and where to register and renew your Food Facility Registration
To participate in the webinar, register at FDA’s registration page. Questions or comments related to food facility registration also may be submitted during the registration process. FDA requests that questions or comments be submitted by July 26.
