April Darnell joined the IGP staff at the beginning of January 2023. She previously worked with K-State's English Language Program where she was a faculty instructor and advising coordinator.
She taught courses to international students at all levels of English proficiency, assisted students in transitioning to their academic study programs and in applying for graduate study, and developed courses for online, face-to-face, and hybrid presentation modes for the ELP and external partners.
April came to K-State from the University of Dayton, where she was an associate program manager in the Intensive English Program.
As the Education Manager for the IGP Institute, April leads the design and management of the professional development distance education programs and coordinates with IGP staff, the Department of Grain Science and Industry faculty, and industry professionals to support the delivery of quality on-site and virtual workshops, programs, and courses.
IGP Institute Associate Director, Shawn Thiele said, "We're happy to have April join our team and look forward to her experience and expertise contributing to and growing our educational programs."
