USDA Grain Transportation Report (5/25): EPA Seeks Information on Heavy-Vehicle Technology to Assist Ports

According to today's USDA Grain Transportation Report, on May 5, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a technical request for information (REI) on zero-emissions heavy-duty vehicles and port eequipment.

The RFI is for EPA's Clean Ports and Heavy-Duty Vehicles Programs, which combined, will receive $4 billion through the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

These programs support critical clean technologies and practice at ports and aid collaboration among the port industry, communities, and all levels of government.

The RFI seeks information on zero-emission port equipment (e.g. electric or fuel cell drat trucks, harbor craft, locomotives, and cargo handling equipment) and associated charging and other fueling infrastructure.

Responses to the RFU are due by June 5.
