Chandler Feed Co., Inc. is a locally owned, third-generation feed and grain company celebrating its 75th year in business in 2020.
Since 2016, Chandler Feed Co., which is based in Chandler, MN, has used AgTrax software to help run its feed manufacturing and grain-buying business.
The company has feed mills and grain storage in Chandler and Leota and grain storage facilities in Edgerton, Woodstock, and Hardwick, all in the southwestern part of the state.
Chandler Feed buys corn, soybeans, and oats, and it manufactures feed for swine, dairy, beef, sheep, and poultry, says CEO Derek Krosschell, who co-owns the business with his three siblings.
In 2016, Chandler Feed Co. started using AgTrax software and has never regretted the move, says Krosschell.
“At the time, we were working with another company and we were having nothing but trouble,” he recalls. “Easy Automation Inc. of Welcome, MN was automating our feed mill and the ordering information on the feed side of the business. Easy Automation recommended AgTrax because we could integrate the Easy Automation and AgTrax systems. We reviewed AgTrax and found the two systems coalesce really nicely.”
Scale interface. Chandler Feed uses AgTrax’s AgRemote® scale interface, which connects the company’s scales with its accounting system and eliminates double entries.
Online access. AgTrax’s OnlineAccess customer web portal allows Chandler Feed customers to sign in remotely and securely to track their accounts.
“Our customers can access their feed invoices, grain sale records, and all of their contracts with us through a secure portal,” notes Krosschell.
Grain accounting software. Chandler Feed uses AgTrax’s TraxView system to collect, generate, and distribute information for accounts receivable, general ledger, all of its grain accounting, and all of its contracts.
“We’ve used three different software companies, and the transition to AgTrax was the smoothest we’ve had,” he adds. “AgTrax’s customer support is also the best we’ve experienced.”
Peter Krosschell, the Krosschell siblings’ grandfather, founded the company in 1946 as a hatchery. Their father, Ron Krosschell, and his brother, Roger, took over the operation from their father, and Ron bought Roger’s share of the business in 2000. Derek, 31, the youngest of the four Krosschell siblings, became CEO in August 2017.
