App identifies pests in stored grain and how to treat infestations

Central Life Sciences’ free web-based app, www.grainbugs.com, is designed to help grain producers positively identify commonly found bugs in their stored grain.

According to Nancy Stratinsky, business manager – Specialty Agriculture, the app helps users know what pests are present, a description of their life cycle, feeding habits, signs of infestation, control tips, and product and application tips.

“We understand the problems grain producers face when they have an infestation, and we help them protect their grain and bottom line,” says Stratinsky. “We let them know what pests are there and how to treat them.”

Easy to Use

“The app is intuitive and easy to use, and the number of pests it identifies continues to grow,” she explains. “If users can’t identify their pest, they can take a picture and send it to a Central Life Sciences entomologist who will identify it, typically within a week,” she adds.
