Doran Scales has been serving the grain industry since 1976 by engineering and manufacturing precision grain grading scales in Batavia, IL.
According to CEO/Owner, Mark Podl, by developing one of the first electronic scales in the industry, the company’s GrainGrader scale eliminated the need for charts to determine calculations or for operators to do calculations by hand.
“Through the years, the original GrainGrader design has been updated from plastic to all high-quality stainless steel construction, and the quality of the circuit board has been improved to ensure accuracy and reduce errors in the dockage weighing process,” say Podl.
“My dad started Doran Scales in a garage, and I’m proud to continue the important work he began,” he says.
“The GrainGrader scale is a staple of grain evaluation and allows users to calculate percentage of dockage (broken kernels and foreign material) in their grain easily and accurately.”
Made in the United States
“We also sell direct to users at greatly reduced prices, and we’re proud that the GrainGrader scale and all of its components are made in the United States,” he adds.
