FlexWave utilizes low pressure to reduce liner wear

GSI introduced FlexWave® technology in August, which is designed for complete bin cleanout without ever needing to enter the bin.

The patent-pending bin unloading technology, which will be available in 2018, features two heavy-duty PVC-coated vinyl liners with a conveyor trough between them.

The liners inflate and deflate alternately to gently push the remaining grain into the trough to provide complete cleanout without bin entry.

According to Jonathan Waits, product manager for storage products, “FlexWave technology improves safety by eliminating the need to manually sweep out the bin to remove the last remaining grain. By eliminating the need to enter the bin, there is no risk of entrapment from falling grain or auger entanglement.”

Low Pressure Operation

“FlexWave operates under very low pressure, less than 1% PSI. This reduces wear on the liners, which are designed to last for more than 30 years under normal conditions,” explains Waits. “We’re also field testing aeration methods using non-traditional means.”
