For nearly 60 years, Greene Galvanized Stairs has provided safe access for grain storage systems. In March, the company introduced its A-Series sidewall stairs for 32-, 42-, and 44-inch bin wall panels.
According to Vice President of Sales and Operations Mike Adams, “Our A-Series stairs are designed to fit most new mainline large-diameter grain bins.
“The system is designed for a minimum 28-inch clear walkway and a lower rise of 7 inches to 8-3/4 inches per step with six steps per ring and standard inside and outside handrails,” he says. “The stairs are mounted 13 inches from the sidewall to clear obstructions on the outside of bins, like stiffeners and wind rings. They also comply with the requirements of a rest landing every 12 feet over vertical rise.”
“These stair systems are designed according to the following safety regulations: OSHA, ASAE, ANSI, NFPA, AS1657-2003 and are fully compliant, when properly installed, to keep customers safe,” says Adams.
“We believe it’s the widest bin sidewall stair in the industry. The 30-inch-x-11-inch step tread can hold 1,000 pounds and has been independently tested for performance over 50,000 load cycles.”
