Low Air Flow Fumigation Method Provides Even Movement of Fumigants

Uniform gas concentrations ensure high insect mortality

J-System Recirculation LLC’s J-System® low air flow fumigation system provides a precise, even air movement of fumigants within a grain mass.

According to Production Manager Dennis Ryman, the J-System blower’s design coordinated with the controlled release of hydrogen phosphide from Phostoxin® aid in establishing a lethal concentration of the fumigant throughout the grain mass in tightly-sealed structures, regardless of size or shape.

“Using the patented J-System B-9 blower, air is drawn from the headspace and pushed into the grain mass using the structure’s aeration system, establishing a uniform hydrogen phosphide concentration,” explains Ryman. “Uniform gas concentrations in all areas of the grain mass ensure high insect mortality.”

“Design improvements have eliminated the need for rubber boots on the blower’s flanges, and the tubing assembly is easier,” adds Ryman.

Product Features

  • Economical to install externally or internally due to blower’s explosion-proof classification (non-sparking cast aluminum housing and impeller).
  • Component parts can be custom-designed and engineered for any storage facility, including ones without an existing aeration system.
  • Currently used on all types of grain storage facilities including corrugated steel tanks, steel welded or bolted tanks, concrete silos, flat storage, bunker storage, barges, shipholds.
