Kansas City, KS — Hansen-Mueller Co., an Omaha, NE, U.S.-based company, purchased a commercial grain elevator, known as the Katy Elevator, in Kansas City, Kansas.
With access to rail and truck routes, the 4.25 million-bushel facility is located at 340 Southwest Boulevard.
“We are excited to add the Katy facility to our operations in the Kansas City metro,” said Josh Hansen, president at Hansen-Mueller.
“This acquisition will expand our capacity to store and handle additional wheat and other commodities for our customers and trading partners.”
Hansen-Mueller, a family-owned business for the past 40 years, owns or operates approximately 24 facilities throughout 11 states, including three port locations, and five feed mills, in addition to its grain storage facilities.
The Kansas City Katy elevator is positioned in the heart of Hansen-Mueller’s footprint.
Hansen-Mueller has begun accepting grain at the Katy location.
