Bunge Agrees to Sell Its Woodland, CA Rice Mill to Farmers' Rice Cooperative

St. Louis, MO — Bunge Limited announced Tuesday, Nov. 10, that it has agreed to sell its rice mill in Woodland, CA to Farmers' Rice Cooperative.

The completion of the sale is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalized by the end of 2020.

"As part of our portfolio review, we determined that this mill has limited connections to Bunge's broader value chains," said Greg Heckman, Bunge's Chief Executive Officer. "We will work closely with the new owners to make the transition as smooth as possible for employees and customers."

Bunge bought the rice milling business of Pacific International Rice Mills, LLC, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch, Inc. in 2010.

The mill produces bulk and packaged milled rice for domestic and export markets. The mill is located in the Sacramento rice growing region, 20 miles west of the Port of Sacramento.
