UN Calls For Black Sea Grain Deal Extension; Kremlin Yet to Decide
According to a Reuters report, on July 5:
- Russia said that it has not decided whether to extend the Black Sea grain deal.
- The United Nations pledged to make every effort to prolong the pact before it expires on July 17.
- The deal was signed in July 2022, and the United Nations and Russia also signed a "memorandum of understanding" saying that the U.N. would facilitate unimpeded access of Russian fertilizers and other products to global markets.
