GEAPS Media Group Announces New Editorial Leadership

GEAPS Media Group (GMG) is pleased to announce that Kristin Joker has been selected as the incoming editorial director for the group.

In this newly created position, Joker will oversee content development across the group’s print, digital, social, and multimedia platforms.

The portfolio of brands includes Grain Journal, Seed Today, Milling Journal, Processing Journal, and Grainnet Safety.

“Kristin Joker is the ideal candidate given her unique combination of journalism and digital-media expertise and business savvy,” says Glen Gudino, GMG president.

“We will work together to implement her vision to create exceptional content, delivered in new formats, for our readers and advertisers.”

Joker brings more than 20 years of experience to GMG. Previously, Joker was the editorial director of the Packaging Group at BNP Media, where she led three print publications to a profitable digital-first format.

Joker began her journalism career at the business-to-business publication Roofing Contractor where she was promoted from intern to managing editor in less than one year. After relocating to New York City, she began working in the consumer space at Condé Nast.

Throughout her 12-year tenure, Joker developed editorial content that secured blue-chip advertisers such as Intel, Mondelez International, Sun Pharma, and HBO.

She conceptualized, wrote, and produced two television programs sponsored by Chevy and American Express.

She earned multiple awards from Condé Nast for her ability to develop innovative content that won new business.

Joker has contributed content to many media outlets including Bravo, NBCUniversal, American Media Inc., and Laufer Media.

In addition to writing, Joker has an in-depth understanding of brand strategy. She has written brand books for leading consumer beauty companies and developed content for product launches in the home goods and beverage industry.

She has also developed creative brand strategies for new product launches in the fishing and hunting sector.

Joker holds a B.A. from Madonna University with a degree in technical writing. She lives in metro Detroit with her husband and daughter.
