Global trends, the pursuit of sustainable pet food packaging, emerging issues in the pet food industry, the buzz around biotics and current regulatory structures are the hot topics that will take center stage at the upcoming American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) Pet Food Conference. The 2024 conference will bring hundreds of pet food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, marketers and academics together to discuss the latest trends in the pet food industry.

The 17th annual AFIA Pet Food Conference will take place Tuesday, Jan. 30, in conjunction with the 2024 International Production & Processing Expo, happening Jan. 30 - Feb.1. The AFIA will also announce the recipient of the annual AFIA Friend of Pet Food Award at the conference.

"The AFIA Pet Food Conference is the place to be to learn what is up and coming in the pet food industry and connect with hundreds of pet food professionals," said Louise Calderwood, AFIA's director of regulatory affairs. "New research and trends are changing more quickly than ever, and it is incredibly important to stay on top of rapidly developing issues."

The program provides an opportunity for select students to present their research or subject matter reviews during the AFIA Pet Food Conference. Three graduate students will be invited to present their work as speakers during the conference, and both graduate and undergraduate students will have the opportunity to present posters.

The AFIA Pet Food Conference runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET and will include breakfast and lunch. Interested individuals are encouraged to register by Jan. 12 to receive the early-bird rate of $105. After that, the registration rate increases to $150.
