Weskan Grain, LLC to Acquire Stockholm Grain, LLC

Sharon Springs, KS (March 21, 2024) - Weskan Grain is pleased to announce its intention to acquire the assets and operations of Stockholm Grain.

This addition will provide four new locations for Weskan and its Colorado Pacific Railroad to carry out their mission to support farmers in Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado.

With the acquisition of seven million bushels of storage from Stockholm Grain, this brings Weskan Grain’s total bushels of capacity to over 20 million.

Celebrating the acquisition, Ab Smith, CEO of Stockholm Grain stated, “With Weskan Grain, we found a buyer who shares our core values of being customer and community focused, and being successful when the customer is successful. Gabe Cox and I are grateful to our customers, employees, and communities for their loyalty over the years.”

“Stockholm was the perfect addition to our business because its people, reputation and locations are a great fit. Stockholm customers should expect the same caliber of service under the Weskan brand,” says Will Bramblett, CEO of Weskan Grain.

Stefan Soloviev, Chairman of Weskan, said, “Creating a producer friendly, transparent grain company is the most important business goal I have in my life. I know what it’s like to be a producer for 20 years.

"I make a promise to you that if you trust me with your grain and let me fight to let both of us be treated fairly in this industry, I will not let you down. Thats what Weskan is about…. that’s all it is.

"It is an honor to be chosen by Ab Smith to continue his legacy and the local legacy he created. Ab and I have gotten to know each other the last month and we share the same vision.

"I am honored that Ab will help guide me going forward. This acquisition and merger gets me one step closer to my overall goal.”

Final details of the acquisition will be announced at a later date.
