The Season’s First Crop Progress Report Shows an Improved Winter Wheat Crop

The first Crop Progress report of the season is out and we are getting a good look at this year’s winter wheat crop, which is up significantly from this time last year.

Winter wheat is sitting at 56% good to excellent, which is up from a decade-low of 28% this time last year. On the planting side, corn is just 2% in the ground, which is one point ahead of the five-year-average.

Analysts with DTN say the Plains could see some moisture this week, but that comes with the threat of severe weather in some areas.
