Northern Crop Institute to Host Courses on Animal and Human Food Safety

Fargo, ND - Jan. 6, 2019 - The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) plans on hosting two courses on animal and human food safety.

The first course will take place January 21st through 23rd, 2020 and will focus on preventative controls for animal feed.

The second course will take place February 25th through 27th, 2020 and will focus on preventative controls for human food.

Both courses will take place at NCI.

Who needs these courses?

The curriculum of these courses is designed for industry professionals with responsibility for developing and implementing a company’s food safety plans.

It is suitable for those working in any area of the facility (quality, sanitation, operations, logistics, maintenance, etc.) and where food safety plans will be used or where knowledge of the rule will be helpful (sales, marketing, and upper management.)

Why are these classes important?

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Final Rule for Preventative Controls for Animal/Human Foods requires that each facility have a written food safety plan and a hazard analysis that are prepared by a Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) this course provides training and a certificate in order to meet the requirements for an individual being recognized as a PCQI.
