IRFA and Iowa Corn to Hold Zoom Press Conference on January 24 to Highlight Grand Opening of First U.S. Sustainable Aviation Fuel Facility

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) and the Iowa Corn Promotion Board will be holding a virtual press conference on January 24, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. Iowa time to discuss the grand opening of LanzaJet’s ethanol to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility near Soperton, Georgia, the first of its kind in the United States. Notably, for the foreseeable future, the plant will utilize ethanol imported from Brazil, not U.S. corn-based ethanol. The results of a study analyzing the potential economic impact of the SAF market for Iowa farmers and biofuels producers will be released.
