RMS AccuGap standardizes paralleling, zeroing rolls

In July 2018, RMS Roller-Grinder introduced RMS AccuGap®, an automated process to parallel grinder rolls.

According to Sales Manager Blake Sandnes, AccuGap uses precision sensors to detect when rolls are touching and notify its control system of the roll position.

“When the rolls in your mill aren’t parallel, they wear unevenly, which shortens roll life and leads to increased maintenance costs, reduced performance, and an inconsistent grind,” he explains. “RMS AccuGap simplifies and standardizes paralleling and zeroing the rolls and does it consistently across all operators.”

Reduced Downtime

“Because RMS AccuGap parallels and zeros the rolls while the machine is operating (but without material being processed), it reduces downtime and labor expense,” says Sandnes. “RMS AccuGap also enables automated support diagnostics, and RMS Roller-Grinder can send a team to perform repairs if they are beyond the user’s comfort level.”
