Product Review - Ferrell-Ross - Oilseed Flaking Mill

For more than 150 years, AT Ferrell Co. has served the grain and oilseed industry by manufacturing roller mills, flaking mills, and cracking mills.

In early 2023, the company introduced the Ferrell-Ross 32 x 84 flaking mill, which is designed with seamless integration of a roll grinding system to reduce downtime and increase plant efficiency.

According to President Tom Elliott, “The 32 x 84 flaking mill is a new model in a family of oilseed flaking mills where 24 x 48 has been in use for more than 30 years, and our 32 x 68 mill has been on the market for nearly 20 years.”

Energy-Efficient Design

Elliott says, “The 32 x 84 mill features an energy-efficient design using a 150-hp motor to provide an annual savings of $33,000 based on kWh reduction vs. a 200-hp motor.

“There’s also a dual-drive option that provides additional electrical savings and control,” he adds.
