EnviroLogix introduced its QuickStix Kit to test for dicamba mono-oxygenase (DMO) in dicamba-resistant soybeans in summer 2016.

The test is designed to detect the presence of DMO protein in soybean even MON 87708 sold under the trade mae Roundup Ready 2 Xtend.

According to Communications Manager Charity Hirst, "due to growing consumer demand for organic products, it is important to give soybean growers, elevators, exporters, and processors a rapid way to screen bulk soybeans to prevent the accidental commingling of dicamba-resistant soybeans with organic soybeans in the supply chain."

Fast, Accurate Results

"The QuickStix Kit for DMO offers a test time of five minutes or less to check incoming rucks and storage bins at the sensitivity level of 0.25%, or one DMO soybean in 400," explains Hirst. "Whether meeting specific identity-preserved contract conditions or proctectiong downstream products for non-GMO customers, this kit provides affordable, accurate results in minutes."
