Product Review ... Railcar Coupler Lock and Sign Holder, Aldon Company, Inc.

The newest product in the Aldon Company’s catalog of railroad safety and track maintenance products is its railcar coupler lock and sign holder.

According to Aldon President Joe Ornig, the railcar coupler lock and sign holder enhances worker safety in rail yards by preventing unauthorized coupling and railcar movement.

“The coupler lock fits into the standard sign post hole found on all railcar couplers, and can be secured with a padlock below the coupler,” explains Ornig. “The middle section or ‘cage’ sits inside the coupler knuckle preventing unauthorized coupling.”

Easy On, Easy Off

According to Ornig, the coupler lock fits all North American railway couplers, and is easy to put on and easy to remove.

“Once installed, the cage can’t be wrenched out of the coupling without removing the padlock, thus providing the ultimate in blue flag protection,” he says.
