Flat Bottom Bin Provides Larger Grain Capacity

Roof design offers space for auxiliary equipment and personnel entry

In early 2018, AGI introduced the MFS 135-foot commercial flat bottom bin. The bin has a large, 15-foot-diameter roof peak that provides space for auxiliary equipment and personnel access. The peak design also uses a quick connection system for multiple mounting options to Brownie towers and catwalks.

According to Jeff Feldkamp, director U.S. sales–grain storage systems, “Stronger MFS roof panels allow simplified roof panel connection to the structure and without field drilling the roof panels.

“Back-to-back Cee channel rafter design, gusseted purlin brackets, and cross brace design minimize deflection of the roof structure during construction, enabling quicker and easier assembly while resisting unbalanced loads due to wind and snow.”

Larger Capacity

“This bin provides larger grain storage capacity – up to 1.2 million bushels – compared to competitive products,” he says.

“The larger diameter offers increased storage capacities while minimizing soil bearing pressure. Back-to-back Cee rafter design allows use of seven purlins to reduce overall part quantity and bolted connections, resulting in quicker assembly while maintaining required strength.”
