Magnets in valve reduce pressure drop

REMBE® Inc. introduced the Q-Flap inlet explosion-isolation valve in 2009. After receiving customer feedback, the company recently introduced an improved version that features magnets holding the flap open to significantly reduce pressure drop across the valve.

According to Regional Sales Manager Abhi Bhargava, “Adding magnets to the Q-Flap-NX valve now means that the suction from dust collection only moves product. This saves users energy, as the sizing on the fan requires lower horsepower, and it improves product flow because the pressure drop across the valve is greatly reduced compared to competitors and even previous versions of our product.”

Optimal System Design

“The redesigned Q-Flap-NX valve is based on optimal system design and significantly reduces pressure drop,” says Bhargava. “It allows for up to two elbows in the ductwork prior to valve installation facilitating retrofitting applications, and the optional auto cleaning feature reduces downtime and speeds up cleaning.”
