Thompson Electric Company is now offering arc flash risk assessment and training to help companies understand and reduce the danger of arc flash in their facilities.
Since April 2014, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has required all employers to label their electrical equipment to identify the incident energy potential, the proper personal protection equipment (PPE) to be worn, and approach-distance requirements for workers.
“An arc flash is a dangerous condition associated with an electrical explosion or the release of energy caused by an electrical arc,” explains General Manager Jason Glover.
“We use engineers and licensed electricians to collect information and conduct the arc flash analysis.
“We go beyond the minimum OSHA requirements and traditional studies,” he explains.
“We work with our customers to mitigate risk and reduce the potential danger arc flash can cause, so their employees can go home safe every night.”
