CompuWeigh’s SmartTruck technology was introduced in 2005 to process trucks digitally through unloading/loading operations at grain, feed, and processing facilities.

According to Senior Vice President-Sales and Marketing Tim Ciucci, SmartTruck is designed to provide clear return on investment by:

• Speeding up the grain receiving process by automatically identifying trucks, thus scales do not need to be staffed.

• Optionally allowing drivers to select/confirm the producer/split entity via a driver touchscreen terminal or through the SmartTruck driver mobile app.

• Providing an intercom system with digital noise cancellation that substantially reduces background noise both in the scale house and at the truck.

• Increasing safety by keeping drivers in their trucks.

• Providing dump pit staff with a screen displaying commodity and grade factors for each truck.

• Providing peace of mind that trucks cannot dump in the wrong pit by controlling doors and gates or by sounding an alarm if a truck arrives at the wrong pit.

• Automatically setting the path in a plant automation system to the correct bin.

• Automatically identifying trucks when they arrive at the outbound scale via scanning the RFID tag, thus preventing the misidentification of trucks.

• Providing an electronic audit log of the entire transaction process, including pictures of the trucks and drivers, what pit drivers were told to use, and all keystrokes made by the driver and/or probe attendant.
